First I want to start off by letting you know that all parties involved are absolutely healthy and recovered now. The amazing doctor at Cedars Sinai detected the need for an emergency cesarian just in time and all that was needed for baby to recover was about a day and half in the NICU to regain some strength after losing and swallowing some blood.
I feel so grateful to have been able to capture this unique birth story. Every baby arrives in their own way. You may remember this mama from the sunny pregnancy session I posted a few months ago. Of course she wasn't planning to have an emergency c-section, but her mother's instinct told her to go to the hospital even though she was only in very early labor. I rushed to the hospital and got there just after the surgery. I captured everything I could of this story - Mama waking up from general anesthesia and hearing that her baby was healthy, daddy visiting baby in the NICU, and then I returned the next morning to capture the moment mom met her baby boy for the first time. Please enjoy these beautiful images of this family's birth story.
