James: Senior Portrait

September 15, 2014  •  Leave a Comment

My baby brother James just started his senior year of high school. I can hardly believe it. So while visiting home (Mendocino, CA) this summer I made sure to take his senior portrait. I just love the images that came out of an hour of him and me romping around the backyard together. The backyard is less of a backyard and more of a forest, which made for a great backdrop. How I wish there was greenery of this sort in LA! James was my first muse when I discovered my love for photography as a teenager. I have many photos of him that I took with my old 35mm and developed in the dark room of my high school. Here is one of them - taken in the same backyard! On the back of the print it says "fast shutter speed". I think it was for an assignment in which I had to experiment with shutter speeds.

From little cutie to big cutie...
